Anne M. Facini, 85, Waldorf
Anne M. (Kelly) Facini, formerly of Berkshire, MD and Waldorf, MD, died on Saturday,
July 27, 2013, at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, MD, following a decline in health.
Anne, only child of the late Patrick and Bertha Kelly,
was born July 20, 1928 in New Philadelphia, PA. She attended Pottsville Catholic High School, Pottsville, PA, and graduated
as a registered nurse from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes Barre, PA.
She came to Washington, DC, as the bride of Julius (Julio)
N. Facini in October 1952. She was employed by George Washington University Hospital until 1960; then employed by the Lowery
Medical Center, District Heights, MD, retiring in December 1992.
She was a member of Mount Calvary Catholic Church, the Sodality, the Ladies of Charity
and the Queens of the Knights of Columbus Council 4076 in Forestville, MD. She moved to Waldorf, MD in 2007 and became
a member at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing bingo.
Anne is preceded in death by
her husband, Julio in January 2005 and her daughter-in-law, Barbara in July 2012.
She is survived by her son Steve Facini of Hollywood, MD; grandson
Matthew Facini, his wife Jessica, and great-granddaughter Ava; grandson David Facini, his fiancée Melissa Ridpath;
her son Chuck Facini, his wife Teresa of Waldorf, MD; her daughter Jule Ann Thorne, her husband Paul of Charlotte Hall, MD;
grandsons Russell and Daniel Thorne and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation
will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, MD,
from 10:00 am until 12:00 p.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Maryland
Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Arthritis Foundation
or the Alzheimer’s Association.
